Tourism Rockingham Social Media Development

The Problem

As a not for profit organisation, Tourism Rockingham lacked the resources to really embrace social media and as a result were being left behind.

Local competitors were seeing their social media numbers increasing exponentially, but irregular and often off brand posts were doing little to generate interest and engagement for Tourism Rockingham.

In person enquiry numbers are dropping at nearly every visitor centre in Australia. The role of the visitor centre needs to evolve and embrace digital technology or risk losing.

The Solution

Starting with an assessment of the social media activities of Tourism Rockingham’s competitors, both locally an interstate, we developed a social media plan to increase awareness and engagement.

With support from The City of Rockingham who provided access to their image library, we produce a number of graphics to suit both Facebook an Instagram for posting on a regular basis.

Both social media channels are seeing steady growth in follower numbers and engagement. Largely because of our commitment to ensuring all comments are responded to in a timely manner.
